RAMOS PÉREZ

Crescencio Arenas de San Pedro (Ávila) 1901 - Madrid 1989

Crescencio Ramos joined the Telegraph Regiment Number 1 from February 20, 1921, amounts to Cape May and July 25 as a telegraph sent to Melilla 2nd. In July 1936, was aimed at Observer School Four Winds, which opposed the military uprising. Performed various services on the front of Talavera de la Reina, being shot down by Italian fighters. Promoted to Captain in 1937 assumed command of a squadron of light bombers Polikarpov RZ Natacha with which operated on the southern front and the offensive Huesca. In the fall of 1937 he Aviation Elementary School (Sewell and El Palmar) and then was assigned to the School of Polimotores of Totana, where he remained until the end of the war rising to the rank of Major.

On the morning of March 24, 1939, Ramos manning a twin-engine de Havilland Dragon, was exiled from Spain being prominent Republican politicians and military leaders, landing in Oran (Algeria French.) From there, along with other prominent members of the Communist Party of Spain travel to the USSR, where Ramos was sent to work in a factory and in 1941 he was transferred to a colony of English children who taught class. During the Second World War successive relocations live fleeing the German advance, finally settling on a farm cooperative. At the end of World War II, he moved to Kiev (Ukraine) together with other members of the English colony and marry there. Shortly afterwards, seeking a warmer climate, the family moved to the Caucasus, where the former aviator went to work in a shoe factory. In 1977 initiated efforts to be recognized military seniority and spend their retirement in Spain, settling two years later in Madrid and in joining the Flyers Association of the Republic (ADAR). Under Law 37/1984 of 22 October he acknowledged his employment as an officer of Aviation of the Republic, granting him the rank of colonel in the English Air Force. He died in Madrid.
